AS MUCH INFO AS I HAVE ....
I use GoDaddy "Website+Marketing" sites because they are always up, the tech help is free, the tech support folks are happy to help you...to a point. They will tell you that just purchasing a package does NOT include all the stuff I do like photo editing and they charge $300.00 to build a site and I’m not sure how far they go before they curtail their help to be honest, (again - I KNOW they won't do the custom photo editing that I do as part of our agreement) but I am a retired senior and can afford to be helpful beyond what they can and generally there will be no serious wait time. **A "Website+Marketing" site is different from a true commercial site in that there is no shopping cart - but they give you 6 (as of this writing, that may change to more or less) PayPal links that you can assign to specific products or even "categorical" products, asking the customer to use the contact form and be more specific (as I do; I myself cannot afford the regular shopping cart merchant site, nor do I have that much to sell). One more thing: It still includes SSL security FREE ($80.00 value) - that means an HTTPS secure site. Without SSL security, your customers are vulnerable to hacking during transactions, mis-directions and more!! I personally AVOID sites that are NOT SECURE and GoDaddy gives it to you free. Just go to any site and see if it says "Not Secure" up in the url bar (the website's address bar.) These site owners have opted NOT to pay the extra $80 for YOUR SECURITY. Godaddy gives it to you free and not just as a built-in cost. I have been with them since BEFORE they offered it free, so I know the price did NOT go up! More on this below in Step 2.
Step One: You contact GoDaddy and purchase the Websites+Marketing package and then you give me the customer number and password you choose and I build the site. During the build, we log in and I build as you watch (which I think works all the time, but if it does not, I publish the site and you see the results as soon as you refresh your browser.) I publish when finished, after you are happy with it all and then will work with you to add stuff. When we are all done, you change the password. That's the start. Obviously we have to talk and get comfortable and then you can reach out to a former customer and see if I've been uncool at any step in the process. I've never had an issue with anyone yet.
STEP 2. At this time (March 2020) you should call GoDaddy and ask what a “Websites+Marketing” website will cost you for one year … (480) 505-8877 - but before you do, here is what you will most likely hear: at this time a one-year payment would be $144.00 including SSL Security. If you buy a year and then renew, it will be approximately $180.00. If you get it for 5 years, it will be locked in at $149.00. Cheap! Again, SSL Security usually costs an extra $80.00 minimum PER YEAR if you do not have it … you should read up on SSL, but simply put, it enables viewers of your site to contact you, purchase items and more without their personal info being hijacked along the way to your site or once inside it...in addition, Google downplays non secure websites and has been doing so since 2018. Remember 2018? Sounds quaint, doesn’t it?! Read these articles: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transport_Layer_Security https://www.howtogeek.com/359298/why-does-google-chrome-say-websites-are-%E2%80%9Cnot-secure%E2%80%9D/
After you have read about SSL, go to ANY website (CNN or a friend's) preferably with a security-minded browser like Chrome (or better still BRAVE browser or Duck Duck Go and see if the LOCK icon is to the left of the URL ... if not, it's not fully secure, and in the BRAVE browser, it plainly says: Not secure. That's HOW YOU KNOW, or any variation thereof.
3. You should check out www.MarkRHarrisMusic.com , my latest build. The difference between GoDaddy charging you to throw together a site for you and me doing it is the pictures on the site: they will NOT Photoshop them to perfection as I will. In fact, look at the opening picture of Mark playin' his bass above: do you think it came out of a camera like that? No siree, Bob. I painted that from the flat, dark blue pic and all those colors did NOT exist.
4. I build these sites with personal interaction, and I can teach you to edit it yourself in real time, or you can pay me $100.00 a year to maintain and update it.
5. The "Marketing" part:
The basic “Website+Marketing” site has 6 included PayPal links … also, there are ways to make the six “act” like more than that, and that is useful for selling small amounts of items. Of course, you can offer generic categories and ask the purchaser to use the contact form and be more specific. A true e-commerce site with a shopping cart is about $350.00 a year, that’s why I build these. But that's up to you and YOUR budget. Again, call GoDaddy and use your credit card to make the purchase you choose to and then I do my magic.
Obviously I built my own site, with everything you see supplied by me: video, audio, text, photography, Photoshop editing and more. I have YEARS of Photoshop, graphics, editing and art experience...I am a REAL artist.
I created this site by talking on the phone, totally remote, with the owner as we made changes IN REAL TIME. She supplied photos which I edited and color-corrected in Photoshop! I teach you how to update your own site but am available to help should you forget how... https://goodshepherddesigns.com/
I did all the artwork, most of the photography (except what was supplied) and even made pictures by screencapping freeze frames from videos they posted on Youtube.com.
GoDaddy's "Websites+Marketing" builders are tricky but complete and INCLUDE SSL Security, which usually costs AN EXTRA $80.00 a year Minimum.
Google will low-rank a website with no SSL security! Plus savvy customers know not to click through to an unsecured website, especially for sales. Read this:
I will either build it and teach you how to run it for about $250.00 (if you don't overstep your bounds) or I will maintain it for $120.00 a year ($10.00 monthly.)
If you BUY the site for one year from GoDaddy, it is about $144.00 to start and then $180.00 yearly after that (you need to call GoDaddy and hear all your options and then make your choice of whether to get the webiste+marketing site or a full-blown merchant site with a check-out cart.) Buy it for 5 years and lock in the $149.00 a year fee after a one year trial, is my advice.
First, look over all the sites I have built for different looks, feels, content, etc. THINK about what you would like your site to look like. If it's possible with this builder, I'll do it. Just use my contact form here on the site and send your phone number and we can get to work...
See the next section down to gander at what I can do to pictures that will be on your site.
Just check out what I did when this customer asked to use the pic on left. A great photo, but it needed more "pizzazz"! When I build a site, I make sure that every pic is color-corrected, or even subtly made less "busy" with distracting elements from your product or services. I do this to each picture (as needed) as part of the service of building the website itself. I cannot re-do every single picture to the degree that I did this one above, but for the cover image, I did go to the wall with it. If you need/want serious editing (beyond your "splash" or home page picture, which I include) then I charge $30.00 a picture. GoDaddy does NOT provide these services. GoDaddy is a trademarked name and it should not be implied that I work for them ....YET.

All these were done with Photoshop. So even if you just want pics restored, (see the Restorations Photo Gallery) I'm your man. Online. Reasonable. What're you waiting for???
